Guinta Makes Top Hires
December 2, 2010A nugget from today’s Granite Status includes the new top hires for Frank Guinta’s Congressional Office, his District Director and Chief of Staff. Here are the details from DiStaso on who was hired and what will come of long time Guinta Operative Mike Biundo.
TOP GUINTA STAFFERS. U.S. Rep.-elect Frank Guinta will soon name his campaign fund-raiser as his chief of staff and deputy campaign manager as his district director.
Ethan Zorfas, the new chief of staff, took over as Guinta’s finance director early this year and also helped fund-raise for U.S. Rep.-elect Charlie Bass.
Roger Wilkins, former co-leader of the now-dormant New Hampshire Advantage Coalition and longtime conservative activist, will head Guinta’s district operations. He has long experience in campaigns, public relations and account management, including stints as a staffer with former Rep. Bill Zeliff and former Sen. Bob Smith. He was also a key player in Guinta’s re-election campaign as Manchester mayor in 2007.
Guinta’s friend and campaign manager, Mike Biundo, will have no role in the Guinta congressional office, but will be available to him for political advice, especially if (more likely, when) Guinta begins to organize a re-election effort.
Biundo now operates his own consulting firm and has received numerous inquiries from potential presidential candidates looking for help in the upcoming primary campaign. No doubt he’ll be on board with someone during the next year. After all, winning a congressional race in New England will open a lot of doors for him.
