Happy Thanksgiving!

There is so much to be thankful for!  I took a moment to reflect on the blessings we have… and they are many.  A quick look back at history by Dr. David Barton of Wallbuilders.com tells the story in a very meaningful way to the time that our Christian Pilgrim Ancestors called English Dissenters  separated from “The Church of England and embarked on a journey into the unknown aboard the Mayflower, leaving England behind for an opportunity for religious freedom.

Struggle and death was followed by success with help from Indians.  The beginning of Thanksgiving were in the making.  Pilgrim Edward Winslow (Barton writes) declared “by the Goodness of God we are far from want”.

The factual story by Dr. Barton is very much worth reading as it provides interesting detail as to how much later  Congress and George Washington were involved in the creation of our Thanksgiving Holiday.

To one and all…God Bless and may your Thanksgiving be joyous, robust and with Loved ones.  I will add a prayer for all of our Soldiers and their families as they keep us free from tyranny.

God Bless America. We are the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave!
