Prediction Round Up: Republican Riptide Is Coming

October 31, 2010Matt Suermann

With only 48 hours to go until Granite Staters head to the polls, the State’s key political reporters (DiStaso, Landrigan, and Fahey) offered their predictions for Election Day.  For the most part, their predictions show great news for Republicans statewide.  All agree that Ayotte and Guinta are shoo ins, that Gov. Lynch still has a fight on his hands and if he does win, he will be working with Republican majorities in the Senate, House, and Executive Council.  While they disagree with exactly how Republicans will get to those majorities, and by what margin, it is clear that Granite Staters are poised to show Democrats that they are unhappy with the direction they have taken the state and the country in.

The wild card, to them, remains the 2nd District where all prognosticators are seeing it as too close to call and the local columnists are split on who will walk away the victor.  If you’re looking for how these 3 are seeing things break in the final days take a look below for a handy cheat rundown.  What is important to remember, is that these are their opinions based off of what they see on the ground.  Many of the calls are the same that I would make.  But I disagree with Lynch or Kuster hanging on.  With what I’ve heard, it seems reasonable that Lynch and Kuster will be joining Hodes and CSP as losers Tuesday evening.

(Scroll over to see their predictions. Also, Names in bold are incumbents, italics represent a seat that is open and is currently held by that nominee’s party. Red and Blue in the predictions columns are self explanatory)
