Shea-Porter & The Sound of One Hand Clapping

April 14, 2011Fergus Cullen

Carol Shea-Porter’s announcement that she’s running for Congress again is great news for Frank Guinta and presents establishment Dems, both in NH and in DC, with a real problem. They know CSP is utterly unelectable in a general election. They also know her strength among liberal base activists makes it hard for a more electable Democrat to win the nomination. And, her odds of nomination only go up in a multi-candidate primary. What to do, what to do? Does the DCCC get behind CSP and discourage others from running? Or do they try to find a more electable candidate, one who can stop Shea-Porter in a primary? Either way, the odds of NH-1 becoming a targeted race for national Dems have just gone down.

What with the current Presidential office holder already setting up “shop”,
do NOT rest easy. I thought for a second that (my interpretation of) common sense would prevail at (ie.)town meeting budget article voting, and a vast crowd of eligible voters would deign to attend. I was sadly
    mistaken.
Those freakin’ Socialist, nanny state, “It’s only for the poor women, infants, and children, …” cable/”broadcast” tee vee ads from Maine aren’t helping.

Oh well. If Guinta beat Shea-Porter once, he can beat her again. What I say about Guinta already:

2 MORE YEARS!!!!!!! 2 MORE YEARS!!!!!!!
