Mr. Ambitious wants to be a member of the United States Senate. Hodes was invited to Senate Democrats weekly luncheon to introduce himself.
As is customary in these situations, Mr. Hodes was not invited to stay and eat but rather to introduce himself and describe his reasons for wanting to join the Senate.
