The Wreck of the Democrat Party

My adaptation from Gordon Lightfoot’s “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”

The legend lives on from New England on down
Of the great land they call the U S A
The People, it is said, never give up, instead
When the skies of November turn gray.

With just a booth and a pen,”We the people” sent a message to end, the Socialists in the Democrat party.
Liberty was the pride of the American side, where Illegal’s were not invited.
Coming back from some fight on Health-Care that night, Obama was pushin’ his socialist agenda.

As the big governments go, it was bigger than most
With a Obama and Pelosi unreasoned.

Concluding some terms, big government tried to force all firms, to pay taxes beyond ’til their pockets were empty.
And later that night when Unions tried to globalize, the gales of November came early.

The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound in every town hall in the nation
The People they say, came a-votin’ that day, when the gales of November came early
And everyone knew, and the Socialists did, too,
T’was the votes of November come stealin’.

Even the Big Unions too were a bone to be chewed
Could it be the Tea Party they were feeling.

The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the votes of November came early
When afternoon came, it was freezing rain
with Americans to gain, who said
“Pelosi it’s been good to know ya!”

Obama wired in, he hadn’t planned this change coming in
And the Congress and Senate were in peril
And later that night when voting lights went out of sight
Came the Wreck of  the Democrat Party.

The legend lives on from New England on down
Of the great land they call the U S A
The People, it is said, never give up, instead
When the skies of November turn gray.
With just a booth and a pen, people sent a message to end,

the Socialists in the Democrat party.

Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When American voters turn minutes to hours
The Democrats all say they’d have made Socialism stay.

If they’d put just, two more years, behind them.

They might have chose, a bipartisan approach.

They could have broke-off this Socialist endeavor.

And later that night when voting lights went out of sight
came the Wreck of the Democrat Party
And all that remains is the faces and the names
with Obama’s agenda driv’n backwards.

In many a hall the Tea Party prayed for the 129

Candidates they supported. When word came thru

that 118 were elected true, they knew their prayers were

answered!

The church bell chimed, Sixty-Six times
For each new Republican seat in Congress giv’n honors.

The legend lives on from New England on down
Of the great land they call U S A
The People, it is said, never give up, instead
When the skies of November turn gray.

With just a booth and a pen, the people instead, sent a message to end.

The Socialists in the Democrat Party.

Even Big Unions too, were a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November Remember!
